“Below Decks has official opened its doors on Beacon Quay in Torquay this weekend following a massive refurbishment. Yesterday, May 14, saw the relaunch of the venue as members of the community enjoyed food, drinks, live music, and a DJ set.
A ribbon cutting also took place to mark its official reopening with VIP guests including Kevin Foster MP, Torbay Councillor for Regeneration, Hon. Swithin Long, and business owners and food influencers from all around Torbay and greater Devon.
Owner of Below Decks Gregory Shadbolt said: “This wouldn’t be possible without our amazing community. We’re so grateful for your support, and we can’t wait to continue serving you here on Beacon Quay.”
Below Decks has undergone a complete transformation, doubling the size of the restaurant, kitchen and bar area, creating an incredible customer experience. The changes to Below Decks are a direct result of listening to the local community and what they wanted to see in a newly refurbished restaurant, revitalising Beacon Quay into a destination.
Shadbolt said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and show them what we’ve been working on. We know they’re going to love it!”
The newly extended Below Decks in Torquay
A new contemporary menu features fresh, local food including Sirloin Surf and Turf, Slow-cooked Teriyaki Pork Belly, decadent Mushroom Tagliatelle and their Signature Mussels fresh from Elberry Cove in Brixham.
A new VIP Card scheme has also been introduced, with generous discounts for loyal customers. One pound is worth one point, and the discounts soon add up! “We wanted to show our appreciation for our regular customers,” says Shadbolt. “This is just our little way of saying thank you.”
